Anglo American Eyewear Liberty Flame Vintage Sunglasses – Made in England – New Unworn Deadstock
Made in England in the late 1970s.
This frame is new old stock, it was on display in an optical shop for the best part of the 1980s and 1990s. Original lenses in perfect condition, no scratches. On the frame, there are minimal signs of age and storage, like very small scuffs on the silver acetate, one of the small pins on each side of the guitar heads is shorter, and some fading on the inner temple markings. While these signs of age need to be mentioned, they do not affect wearability at all and are invisible when worn.
Anglo American stands alone when it comes to style and quality. the company has been existing for more than a century, and their «Fantasy Collection» has brough about some of the craziest designs in eyewear history. Worn by Elton John and copied many times, the legendary «Guitars» frame is a true piece of wearable art. Made from multiple layers of acetate, the craftsmanship is absolutely breathtaking.
Anglo American Eyewear was founded in London in 1882. With over 120 years of frame making experience, they have been producing the highest quality Zyl frames in the industry. All Anglo American Frames are handmade. Anglo American uses cellulose acetate. Making the frames from this cotton based material makes each frame hypo-allergenic, as opposed to petroleum based plastic that may cause skin irritation and have a tendency to crack easily. All the frames are light, durable, and comfortable to wear.
Dark grey lenses with 100% UV protection.
