Manufactured by Italian eyewear legend Marcolin for the legendary captain of the French national football team from 1988 to 1992. Platini retired the number 10 when he left the team and later became involved in one of the many corruption scandals of FIFA. This frame is not only an exceptional piece of fashion and culture history, it also features an absolutely amazing lens switch mechanism. Much more simple and efficient than other mechanisms of the same era, the temple features two hinges instead of one, and you can simply open the front hinge to switch the lenses. To me, this is the best solution, and it must have been the lack of promotional budget and mass appeal of the frame that lead to other systems becoming the industry standard instead of this one. The craftsmanship by far surpasses all other efforts of producing a valid piece of licensed eyewear in that era. Exceptional quality. A highly wearable museum piece of breathtaking beauty.

Including two sets of lenses in perfect condition, except for the left lens of the brown gradient pair: It has two small chips on the upper left, see photos. This does not affect wearability but has been reflected on the price.
