Zollitsch is one of the most underrated powerhouses of 1980s eyewear design. The small manufacture existed for a very short time only and released so many iconic frames that it became well known to vintage eyewear collectors around the world in recent years. The Zollitsch Maritim line was created at a time where sailing and water sports were regarded as the thing to do when you made it big. Various eyewear designers started incorporating rope and knot designs to their frames, giving birth to the Cardin Plus line, the Fred Force 10 Eyewear line and, most of all, the Zollitsch Maritim. This very rare 22Kt gold plated Maritim Luv frame features temples and a brow bar in the shape of sailing cables, offering them a unique flexibility without losing any sturdiness. The Luv is one of my all time favourites, i wear mine all year and i am really glad to be able to offer this model. A beautiful silver and gold combination with rope temples and earpieces with gold metal logo.
The geometry of the Luv is truly unique. the double knot on the nose bridge not only looks beautiful, it also makes sure that the frame perfectly adapts to the facial curve. The pentagonal shape of the lenses is absolutely perfect. Very easy on the face, exremely elegant and yet subtle and understated. A true piece of art.
