Die 1986 eingeführte Kollektion «My Adidas» von RUN DMC und Adidas war die erste Zusammenarbeit zwischen einem Kulturakteur und einem Sportbekleidungshersteller. Für eine internationale Sportswear-Marke war es damals absolut revolutionäre, mit Musikern zusammenzuarbeiten. Und die Verbindung eines alten westdeutschen Unternehmens mit einer topmodernen Rap-Gruppe aus einer aufkommenden Jugendkultur hat die Spielzeit definitiv verändert. Heute sind Kollaborationen ein bestimmendes Merkmal von Mode und Streetwear, und mit diesem Sweatshirt hat alles angefangen.

Angelehnt an die klassischen Adidas-Sweatshirts der Olympischen Spiele, Segel- und Mannschaftssportserien, bringt dieses Sweatshirt die Oldschool-Hip-Hop-Ästhetik der Mitte der 1980er Jahre auf ein neues Level. Dieses Sweatshirt kombiniert die Skyline von New York mit Puffärmeln, Patches und aufgenähten Buchstaben und wird für immer eines der bekanntesten Stücke in der Hip-Hop-Mode bleiben.

Dieser Pullover hatte definitiv ein bewegtes Leben, er muss bis jetzt in den Händen mehrerer Besitzer gewesen sein, und ich habe ihn jahrelang mit Stolz getragen. Er ist in gutem Vintage Zustand, ohne größere Flecken oder Risse, aber man kann definitiv erkennen, dass er aus dem Jahr 1986 stammt. Und die Buchstaben auf der Rückseite sehen aus, als könnten sie jeden Moment herunterfallen, was den unwiderstehlichen Charme dieses historischen Stücks nur erhöht.
