Made in Japan in the 1980s

A bold creation by Gaultier's boldest creations, the 55-5108 merges form and function to perfection. Intricate double temples with unique gear wheel hinges. A timeless piece that will never go out of style.

Jean Paul Gaultier was at the avant-garde of eyewear design in the 1980's. Although Japan was by far the most expensive place of production for eyewear frames at that time, Gaultier did not want to settle with anything less than the best craftsmanship for his sunglasses. Unlike most other designers, he did not license his brand to a big eyewear manufacturer but instead kept a minute supervision of the design and production of his sunglasses.

Frame: Silver.
